Firing twin barrels of crooner country and roadhouse roots-rock, Josh Wolfe’s self-titled debut EP finds its big-voiced frontman singing a mix of love songs, drinking ballads and southern epics. It's a classic-sounding record for the contemporary world, full of Telecaster twang, coed harmonies, and melodies that both swoon and swagger. From "Amber Morning Sky" — a kickoff track punctuated by a lovely, loose jam that dominates the song's second half — to the record-closing "Greyhound," Josh Wolfe shines a light on a newcomer who's already carved his own space in a busy community, walking the fine line between a mainstream sound and a revivalist bent.

Wolfe is a modern country singer/songwriter rooted in old-school influences. Raised on the sounds of his father's classic rock collection, he began diving into country music during his late teens, drawn to the genre by its strong storytelling tradition. Years later, he tells his own story with Josh Wolfe, a wide-ranging EP written and recorded in his adopted hometown of Nashville.

Every story has its beginning. Josh Wolfe is the first chapter in a story that's quickly unfolding, with Wolfe — songwriter, instrumentalist, frontman, and stunning vocalist — serving as the plot's honky-tonk hero.
