Raised in Antigua & Barbuda on mangoes, calypso, and the ocean, Joshu crafts quietly beautiful songs meant for gentle afternoons together and silent moments alone. With British/American roots, his Caribbean childhood was steeped in the eclectic musical tastes of his parents and the islands. From John Martyn to Jack Johnson to King Short Shirt, these influences have inspired a beautiful combination of folk and groove with deep lyrical content.
His first EP “Lines of Time”, which was co-produced with Justin “JusBus” Nation (John Legend, Jah Cure, Kes) has garnered almost 2 million streams. With an amazing synergy, they collaborated again and Joshu released the follow-up “Ocean Daze” in Spring of 2023, which weaves together gaelic-inspired melodies with West Indian rhythms for a softly nostalgic island sound.
When the pandemic stopped all live music, he decided to root deeper in his home island and started a mushroom farm. He now spends his time split between cultivating mycelium, and writing, touring and producing his music.
