The Finnish singer-songwriter Joy Regwan releases ''Thank You'', the lead single off her upcoming second album.
Regwan says: ’’Thank you'' is an 'adult breakup song': when you love someone but know that you have to move on alone. It’s also a power song: sometimes, even if it feels scary, you need to trust your own voice and your own way. It will take you exactly where you need to be. This song is also a thank you to all my exes: without them, I wouldn’t have grown into such a person and songwriter that I am today.’’
Joy Regwan has changed her singing language to English. Regwan’s yet-untitled sophomore album was recorded at the end of January 2021, together with up-and-coming pop producers Daniel Okas and Sami Tamminen. Regwan’s songwriting is timeless – she does not shy away from difficult themes in her lyrics – yet the production is modern. The new material sounds chill and catchy at the same time.
