Born in Baltimore, Maryland, , Juke Johnson remembers his father’s passion for music – from Motown to Jazz and, of course, country! He grew up being submerged in music and it is no wonder he has gone on to write and cowrite thousands of songs, covering various genres over pass 3 decades. . He has described his music as a blend between country, country rock, and soul.
In 2018, Johnson won the award for Best Modern Country Song at The World Songwriting Awards for his song ‘Blue’, co-written with Germain Richard Brunet. Four of his songs reached #1 on the RadioA1A chart in 2020! He was also nominated in seven categories at the ISSA Awards two years in a row, in 2019 and 2020!
ISSA Gold winner 2021 -Single of the year. His influences have ranged from Waylon Jennings to Ray Charles to Lynyrd Skynyrd to Tom Petty, Marvin Gaye and even Dolly Parton!
When describing his approach to music, Juke Johnson said, “I just make music that sounds good to me. My music has a lot of genres infused in it - I don't fit into any box. I always try to make music that you can feel in your soul, that tells a story, that says something!”
