Jules Hurren

I am Jules Hurren I’m 57 I live right by the sea with my husband Dale and our two dogs Lexi and Sunny
I have two sons Craig and Glenn and a beautiful grandson Noah
I had throat surgery in March 2020
So I recorded my singing voice before just in case it was serious and I may lose my voice - thankfully I was ok
Then covid hit the uk and as a hairdresser I had to go into lockdown
So I started singing more and more !
I started by singing covers with the artist on a music platform - very quietly I could barely be heard!
Then I gradually got more confident and started singing alone
Ive never had singing lessons and I’ve only sung covers before and I always just record into my mobile phone!
The first single i wrote “I am still me”was inspired by my dad who sadly had Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s for four years until passing away last year
The lyrics came to me early one morning and I feel that they were heaven sent from my dad
My nephew Ben who lives in Mallorca is a singer/musician/songwriter so I asked him if he’d write and play a guitar backing track for me
I sung my lyrics and sent to him then he put his track and my voice together and voila the song “I am still me” was created . It means alot to us and explains the journey of what my dad was feeling in “his” words
100% of the proceeds from this single will go to two charities Dementia uk and Alzheimer’s association
I’m hoping to write more in the future too .
