Julia Rita is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Ottawa, Canada, blending country, folk, soft rock, and pop into an honest and evolving sound. Her music shifts with the seasons of her life, but one thing stays constant: a love for real instruments, raw emotion, and a well-placed guitar solo.
Music runs deep in Julia’s roots. Though she never met her grandmother—a school music teacher—Julia inherited her passion through her mother, who recorded heartfelt love songs of her own. By the time Julia could walk, she was already humming melodies in tune with the world around her.
She started teaching music lessons at 14 and soon found herself performing in local venues across Ottawa. That same year, she discovered songwriting as a way to process emotions and tell her story. Her creative partnership with producer John Sicard has led to dozens of recordings, capturing moments of heartbreak, growth, and hope.
Now, Julia’s debut EP, Mirror Mirror, brings together six deeply personal tracks—each a reflection of where she’s been and where she’s headed.
