Junk Science is <a href="spotify:artist:4w29T4R03oVvYeEQh0AdEw" data-name="Baje One">Baje One</a> on raps and SNAFU on beats. Dudes met in high school in Brooklyn in 1996 (after Baje stole some homemade beat tapes from Snafu’s backpack). The two became friends and started doing rap experiments immediately. In 2003 they moved in together and started working on <a href="spotify:album:4OPyqinuvkeWBN9o0WvDFs" data-name="Feeding Einstein">Feeding Einstein</a>, an album described by URB as “simply superb”.

Einstein’s success led Junk Science to Defintive Jux, who released <a href="spotify:album:4csNlz3kaYHwG6zJMiT3UW" data-name="Gran'dad's Nerve Tonic">Gran'dad's Nerve Tonic</a> in 2007. In promotion of the record, the duo teamed up with Sixpoint Craft Ales to create a limited-edition beer: the GNT.
In 2010, after Def Jux closed, Baje started Modern Shark. The first release on the label: <a href="spotify:album:2ikESdB9IcW1S3nfXBiK3v" data-name="A Miraculous Kind of Machine">A Miraculous Kind of Machine</a>, an album that The New Yorker praised for its “old-school beats and clever rhymes…and a rewarding, wiser-than-their-years approach”.
In 2011, Junk Science teamed with Scott Thorough to release <a href="spotify:album:1MSLlVk67PYF1B6J7T7UgS" data-name="Phoenix Down">Phoenix Down</a>, a record with beats played on 8-bit synthesizers. They released Phoenix Down as a custom-molded USB drive in the shape of a “pixelated” feather.
