Jupiter Rex

Jupiter Rex is the musical vision of Frances Malvaiz and Griffin Murphy. Malvaiz and Murphy met working at a music store and immediately started creating together. The duo began compiling material and collaborated in composing each song on their inaugural release entitled “Through Other People”; released in August 2020.

Malvaiz picked up guitar at age 10 and played cello in orchestra throughout her years in school. Murphy spent a few years playing orchestral percussion and later getting involved with a multitude of bands and musical endeavors. Both are fluent in multiple instruments and play all the parts on their recordings.


Through the last months of 2020 and all the way through 2021, they’ve composed and recorded another body of music; this time taking their musical expressions to another level. “The Ride” marks the start of a string of releases and visual accompaniments leading up to their highly anticipated sophomore album. Their next single, “The Girl Who Lived In Limbo” encapsulates a lucid dreamscape with swirling guitars and synths, ethereal vocals, all atop a drum beat that will keep you grounded and grooving.
