Just Water are one of the original “CBGB’s and Max’s” bands of the 1970’s punk/new wave era in New York and are still going strong. Like many bands of that era, they operated outside the mainstream, even creating their own record label, Branded Records, which still releases music today. Their sound is an eclectic mix of today and rock's roots. They recorded several singles and two albums in the 70's and returned to the studio in 2009. Their latest album, Start a Band, was released in January 2024 and features all original members. Mitchell Dancik and other JW members also record as Mitchell Dancik and The Senators, and Danny Rubin is releasing great new solo tracks.

Just Water scored a hit with a punked-up version of “Singin’ In The Rain”, released by legendary British label “Stiff Records”. The band never received the recognition in America of contemporaries like Ramones, Blondie, and Talking Heads, but scored rave reviews in England. They were once managed by Beatle’s promoter Sid Bernstein and were the first rock act to play the infamous Studio 54. Two JW members were once roadies for The Who. Just Water songs are in movies (My New Gun, The Spectacular Now) and on TV in Mr. Robot, The Righteous Gemstones, The Deuce, Chicago Fire and King Of The Road.

Just Water is Mitchell Dancik (principal songwriter, singer, guitar), Danny Rubin (lead guitar, singer, songwriter), Tom Korba (bass), Ira Bernstein (guest vocalist) and Gus Martin (real gone drums).
