Kaifeck is a German modern metal band from Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm, founded in 2016.
The band combines hard, contemporary riffs with atmospheric and symphonic elements and places particular emphasis on dense moods and conceptual depth. Characteristic are the profound lyrics, which are influenced by religious motifs, philosophical questions, and classical literature and work with a dark, metaphorical imagery.
Musically, Kaifeck clearly moves in modern metal, far away from nu metal clichés, with modern production and multi-layered arrangements.
After their debut album “Rebirth” (2021) and numerous live shows, including a second place finish at SPH Music Masters (2024), the band has further honed their own distinctive sound and positioned themselves as an ambitious, independent force in modern metal.
“Zeit im Sterben” (March 31, 2026) is Kaifeck's second full-length LP and a dark modern metal concept album about the 1922 Hinterkaifeck murder case. Instead of retelling the events, the band translates atmosphere, guilt, and isolation into a melancholic soundscape of heavy riffs, symphonic elements, and modern production. Divided into four acts, the work employs metaphorical imagery, religious motifs, and German-language lyrics. “Zeit im Sterben” is a cohesive album concept with a strong narrative and emotional focus.
