kaiyo is the artistic outlet for UK based producer and instrumentalist Sam Fern. After trying to create music in multiple genres and projects Sam ended up turning to producing, bringing the entire process "in-house" and having complete control.
A process that Sam found both therapeutic and intriguing, after producing and finding his sound for nearly 2 years kaiyo was formed and music began appearing on streaming platforms.
Early releases adopting a more simplistic lo-fi sound inspired by lo-fi & jazz, kaiyo released his first EP <a href="spotify:album:2V96NcpacXS3TEXy1NB7h4" data-name="A weekend in the city">A weekend in the city</a> on <a href="spotify:artist:0gF1oXHJx3NhwCYUheePjM" data-name="Chill Space">Chill Space</a> from here kaiyo's sound has grown more and more inspired by an increasing level of production and a developing sound.
kaiyo's second EP <a href="spotify:album:0u8neiWgqA7YPtFV8WjRRS" data-name="forest journey">forest journey</a> is the epitome of this change in sound and as kaiyo wrote this project over a number of months. Released in June 2023 on Slowdown Records (lofi.co)
