KaMavovo
Born in Durban and raised in Nquthu, KwaZulu-Natal, KaMavovo (real name Thobekile Nomusa Mkhize) is an emerging South African artist whose musical journey began in school assemblies, where her teachers and principal were moved by her spiritual and powerful voice. After her mother passed away, she moved to live with her grandmother, who renamed her Sbahle for her beauty and became her greatest supporter. Singing in the Zion Church further deepened her passion and spiritual connection to music.
In 2022, KaMavovo began exploring Amapiano and the 3-step sound, bringing fresh energy and heartfelt storytelling to her music. Influenced by Afro-pop and Maskandi, she later discovered her love for Lekompo in 2024, blending all these styles to create a unique, soulful sound that resonates across generations.
