Kanako Yamamoto is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist living in London. She began her musical journey at the age of 5 as a classical Guzheng player—a traditional Chinese instrument. By 11, she had won a national title, but her love for folk, ambient, and Brazilian music soon led her to blend her songwriting with the unique textures of the Guzheng, creating a sound that bridges genres and traditions.
In 2024, Kanako released her debut EP - Unfold. Having recently collaborated with Bonobo and Lowswimmer, her artistry continues to evolve, with more intimate and inspired work on the horizon.
