For more than a decade, Karima Francis, a London-based artist, has entranced audiences with their emotionally charged musical narratives, often likened to the soulful sounds of Sharon van Etten mixed with the raw energy of Cat Power. Their velvet vocals blend elements of indie soul and Americana seamlessly, enveloping listeners in a captivating embrace that goes beyond the ordinary.

Karima's journey began in Blackpool, where they found solace in music at the age of 17, starting with drumming. This initial connection blossomed into the genius musicality that defines their work today. Drawing strength from a tumultuous childhood and a robust working-class upbringing, Karima infuses their creations with grit, power, and undeniable passion.

Their debut album, 'The Author,' released in 2009, received widespread critical acclaim, laying the foundation for subsequent successes with albums like 'The Remedy' (2012) and 'Black' (2016). Collaborating with renowned producer Flood further elevated their musical journey, while sharing stages with icons like Patti Smith solidified their reputation as dynamic live performers.

Venturing into the vibrant alternative music scene of Los Angeles, Karima found a kindred spirit in producer Tim Carr (known for his work with Perfume Genius and Hand Habits). They’re currently immersed in creating a new record, the upcoming album features contributions from Greg Uhlman and Harrison Whitford (known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers).
