KarnaTra

This story started in 2002. When 12th grade students, Putra and Dhana, intended to form a cover band, they also invited Angga a.k.a. Mankgo, to join as bassist. Then they asked Ndit, their junior, to join immediately, as the 2nd vocalist. The band name Alter Ego eventually formed, with the initial formation consists of: Dhana (vocal), Ndit (vocal), Putra (guitar), Dedo (guitar), Dimsex (drums), and Mankgo (bass).

After a long journey, on July 2005 Alter Ego reborn as Karnatra, and they started creating their own materials, and seize the opportunity to perform in a fairly prestigious events, A-Mild Live Soundrenaline: Reborn Republic, Prambors Nubuzz, Java Rockinland, Soundsfair, Jakarta Fair and others.

KarnaTra is a combination of two words: 'Karna' means 'ear'. and 'Trah' means 'lineage' or 'clan'/'wangsa'. 'Karna' is also a character in the Mahabharata Story "the archer-king," whom is the son of Surya, the god of the sun.
