Kathleen MacInnes is a Scottish singer and composer. She was born and raised in South Uist, Outer Hebrides. MacInnes, who is a native speaker of Scottish Gaelic, began her musical career with songs in this traditional language. MacInnes received critical acclaim with her debut album Òg-Mhadainn Shamhraidh (Summer Dawn) in 2006, and won the "Gaelic Singer of the Year" award at the 2006 Scottish Traditional Music Awards. Her second album, Cille Bhrìde (Kilbride), released in 2012, won the "Best Album" award.
