KATORGA is a musical collective from Saint Petersburg, Russia whose sound balances between folk, dark folk, acoustic techno, and Russian traditional music, weaving gloom and ritualistic elements into their sonic palette. The members, part of the Dungeon Records community, draw inspiration from Russian folklore, gothic country, and macabre art. Their music brings to life the imagery of Orthodox aesthetics and mystical sects, where the sound becomes both a mournful hymn and a hypnotic prayer.
