Kennedy is a singer and songwriter from Aotearoa, NZ. Her unique blend of musical style and sound, with its poignant lyrics and catchy beats, stands out loud and clear against a backdrop of ‘here-today-gone-tomorrow’ tunes.
The young Wellington artist started releasing original music on social media and got her first taste of success when she wrote the lyrics and featured on the 2017 single, Taking Me Home, with rising Dutch producers Joey Dale and Anthony Dircson. The song received critical acclaim on EDM blogs around the world and piqued interest in the unknown Kiwi vocalist, who’d seemingly appeared from nowhere.
Now after years of toiling away behind the scenes, Kennedy is revealing the first songs from her own 5 track project; kicking off with the feel-good RnB anthem ‘Unravel’ & a raw heartfelt waiata ‘I return (demo)’
A true songwriter at heart, whose sound isn’t confined by genre, Kennedy places a strong emphasis on music with meaning. “I write what I feel and that’s often raw and real lyrics.”
