Panama-born producer and rapper Kenny Man combines his roots in hip-hop with the pop production of reggaetón, as heard on 2020's New Beginning.
Born and raised in Panama, Kenny Man (aka Asdrúbal Hurtado Alfaro) grew up in a difficult neigborhood but found his escape through music, and hip-hop in particular. His first effort was in 2013, when released the mixtape Libertad Bajo Palabra. Embracing a classic hip-hop sound, he delivered his second tape, Kinto Elemento, in 2015 before following it two years later with the release of 8 Songs Suficientes. Taking guidance and inspiration from reggaetón artist Mr. Saik, Kenny Man switched up his style, embracing the pop sound of reggaetón and using his own flow. 2018 saw him sign a deal with Universal Music Latino, while releasing the reggaetón single "Ni Gucci Ni Prada." A string of singles followed, along with collaborations with the likes of Sebastián Yatra, Luciano Vozz, and Nacho, before he released his fourth album, the appropriately titled New Beginning in October 2020. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
