‘Flying In The Face Of Logic’ is the first solo album from producer, singer/songwriter Kevin Ridley; vocalist with folk-metal pioneers Skyclad. The album contains 14 original tracks that are mostly autobiographical or about the singer’s native Northeast (England) and so, fittingly, it features several local session players – notably Northumbrian pipes player Andy May and fiddle player Sophy Ball – as well as the members of Skyclad. ‘Flying In The Face Of Logic’ was produced by Ridley and recorded at Blast Studios in Newcastle but was partly mixed in Italy by Dario Mollo (Glenn Hughes/Tony Martin/ Lacuna Coil) at his Damage Inc studio.
