Born in the very east of Germany, Chris Keymer was raised in a family of music enthusiasts. His early piano lessons quickly became just a vehicle for working through The Beatles songbooks with his dad, jamming cover versions on a six track MIDI workstation with school buddies and spending quite a few nights in lots of rehearsal basements, writing songs and getting hands on a couple more instruments like bass, guitar and drums. The parental selection of jazz and blues records and the late 90’s rnb clips rotating on MTV blended into a huge attraction to neo soul and gospel music, while studying music at university. After graduating in jazz piano later, it took a couple of different side man jobs as a keyboardist to finally focus on what he’s always been attracted to: actually making music in the sweet spot between rich harmony, organic time feel and soulful melodies - all wrapped in a detailed earthy sound and song structure. With his EP „Tack and Jibe“ Keymer represents his approach on instrumental beat music, displaying a pleasantly wide range of moods, sounds and everything else, that he loves about music.
