Accra-born singer, songwriter, stylist, and creative, Christabel Naky Tettey, widely recognized as Khalifina, pioneers the
genre “CODE 12.” Her music transcends the 3rd Dimension, blending messages within lyrics and dreamy humming. With an adeptness for genre fusion, she released her debut single “Prayer” in 2018, gaining momentum. Notably, she caught the attention of award-winning producer Magnom, leading to her 2019 single “Chop,” which quickly went viral and earned her a captivating performance at the We Speed 3 concert before
a crowd of 500+.
Winner of the Youngtrepreneurs music and business workshop 2019, Khalifina’s achievements were spotlighted by BBC News. This competition also secured her a spot at Afrochella Festival 2019 and a collaboration with VGMA award-winning rapper Medikal.
Continuing her momentum, she released the hit single “Today Tomorrow,” produced by Yo Figg, followed by the “Asakaa” drill featuring Black Sherif, highlighting her versatility.
Another standout, “HIGHLY SPIRITED,” garnered attention from Recording Academy Member Richardine Bartee, leading to a feature on Grungecake.
Collaborating with Nigerian artist Bella Alubo, she participated in the “She is The Music” writing camp by YouTube and mentor Alicia Keys.
Evolving with “DON’T TOUCH MY VISION” in 2022 and opening Somadina’s show, gave her community a sense of her renewed artistry. Khalifina’s fashion sense and styling prowess have also solidified her reputation in the industry.
