A little over five years ago, 21-year-old KIAN burst onto the scene with the 5x Platinum certified, ARIA Top 20 hit “Waiting” as the lead single from debut EP ‘Bliss’. He’s since nabbed multiple APRA Awards, become a two-time ARIA nominee, toured internationally, collaborated on Duckwrth’s “Quick”, and released 2020 singles “Every Hour” and “Sunbeam”.
His 2022 EP ‘Shine’, was produced by Willie Tafa (ONEFOUR, Ariana Grande, Baker Boy) and showcased an all together grown-up approach to the modern R&B flavors, evoking the best bits of artists like Bakar, The Weeknd, and Arlo Parks. 2023 saw the release of Triple J favourite 'All Of Me' with Becca Hatch.
KIAN's forthcoming album (EMI Aus) sees the chameleonic artist adjust his colours once again. Raw, frenetic, and oozing confidence, the album ushers in a radical new direction for the still-young artist. Taking inspiration from the music that filled his home as a child, the gritty guitar tones and dizzy, chaotic energy of The Smashing Pumpkins, The Shins and The Pixies are channelled into something fresh, and new.
