Kid Mac

Kid Mac aka Macario De Souza spends his time in the music and film worlds. Known for directing Bra Boys and Fighting Fear he has been wearing his director’s hat the last few years after taking time off music. His work in film landed him in studios and on projects with some of the most interesting names in contemporary music: <a href="spotify:artist:3JXpwnHbLvXxY99EuXqFPX" data-name="Poo Bear">Poo Bear</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6Qpa8xhGsGitz4WBf4BkpK" data-name="Baker Boy">Baker Boy</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7fw0E8WHdG3r9SuPBcGmWk" data-name="Sampa the Great">Sampa the Great</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3Pe4IIW9HoZsmBlKa5G6I1" data-name="Tasman Keith">Tasman Keith</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0KtaCKmTMIQZsxlOgyNa04" data-name="Dune Rats">Dune Rats</a> to name a few. After declaring himself creatively crippled when it came to his music they inspired his return.

The new Kid Mac album is an exploration of love in its many constellations. Whilst paying homage to Kid Mac’s first love (hip hop), it’s a blend of genres and centrally focused around the guitar and those catchy melodies he’s known for.

Tipped as an artist to watch with the release of his debut album <a href="spotify:album:4ajnvSWX133I74J6k4FMpK" data-name="No Man's Land">No Man's Land</a> in 2012, his energetic live shows earned him touring slots with names like <a href="spotify:artist:7hJcb9fa4alzcOq3EaNPoG" data-name="Snoop Dogg">Snoop Dogg</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:34EP7KEpOjXcM2TCat1ISk" data-name="Wu-Tang Clan">Wu-Tang Clan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:546WiMGysEqWZTzP8hJvB2" data-name="Mickey Avalon">Mickey Avalon</a> , festival appearances as well as his own local headline tours. Kid Mac’s unique flavour saw his fan base grow rapidly and his follow up record in 2013 <a href="spotify:album:3EzZmuvbRLfmYz6UgOTmXG" data-name="Head Noise">Head Noise</a> landed the #2 spot on the Independent Music Charts.

Kid Mac’s latest creation will be his third studio album. Due for release in early 2021, you can bet that there will be some pretty kickass visuals to accompany the musical offering from the multi talented artist.
