Severin Specht and Benni Nolle began their journey in 2010. It was then that the two friends discovered that they not only shared the same hometown and football club but also the love for acoustic guitar music. A band name did not have to be found. Rather, it was created almost by itself. From nightly conversations grew a common vision and they gave it the name “Adelaide” – a goal to which the two now set off together and thus became its children.
The route to Adelaide started in the Stuttgart pedestrian zones. Support shows for Jamie Cullum, Mark Owen and legendary Led Zeppelin front man Robert Plant followed. During this time the albums HOME, BYRTH, BLACK HAT & FEATHER, and INTO THE LESS were created and several headlining tours were played.
The Kids of Adelaide are artists with deep roots. And that’s why – despite having a ”life on the road” – they needed a home. Therefore, they moved into the old farmhouse of Benni's grandmother and created an artists' community, complete with a studio, space for ideas, music – and their Adelaide.
During the pandemic it became clear that the Adelaide Way of Life is a very special one: While in times of social isolation everyone was waiting to escape it, the two musicians withdrew even further. They went to a small hut in the the forest and reflected on what the band is all about: making music together, dreaming, philosophizing. This is how the foundation of the album THE CABIN TAPES was created. The journey to Adelaide continues...
