kingxii, formerly known as xii.i.xiv.v, was born in Flint, Michigan in 1996 and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has been writing since the age of 13 and recording since he was 17. He has the versatility to cover a broad range of genres and styles but chooses to specialize in rap, hip-hop, and spoken word. Everything that the self proclaimed “king of the darkness” writes is filled with emotion and comes straight from his heart. He pushes himself every day to use his lyrical abilities to impact the lives of the people who battle demons similar to his own.
Scars, kingxii's debut single on major digital music platforms, was released in September 2018 on his 22nd birthday and racked up over 30,000 streams on Spotify in the first month. Scars eventually topped a quarter million streams and continues to climb by the day. Bullet, a collaboration with his brother kyGAWD, was released on January 18, 2019. His third single, Crown Me, dropped on October 11, 2019.
In 2020, the Pittsburgh City Paper awarded kingxii and kyGAWD first place for Best Music Collaboration for their performance on Bullet. kingxii also won third place for Best Unsigned Music Artist and was a finalist for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Performer.
kingxii’s third single, Butterfly Effect, and its animated music video were released on January 1st, 2022 in anticipation of his debut album to follow, KOTD.
