Proudly part of their Southern soul lineage, Klass Band Brotherhood also mix classic blues and funk, as well as the early-'80s Minneapolis sound via Prince and the Time. Led by multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Nelson Curry, the North Augusta, South Carolina-based band has roots in the Klass and le Klass, acts that performed and recorded during the '80s and '90s. Curry later opted for the name change to Klass Band Brotherhood as a way to acknowledge all the musicians who have passed through the bands' lineups. Curry established Neo Blues Music label as a label for KBB, who have released the albums Out of the Shadows of Soul (featuring "Sugaa Shack," one of their best-known songs; 2011) and We Call the Shots in Soul (2013), and an EP, A New Beginning (2016). ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
