A musical diet of Lupe Fiasco, Common, Kano and Sway sparked Kofi Stone’s early fascination with hip-hop. In 2017, he released his debut single Stories In Pyjamas, followed by Nothing Ain't Free, quickly positioning him as one of the most exciting new voices in UK rap. With a growing fanbase and multiple sold-out headline shows, his debut project Nobody Cares Till Everybody Does confirmed his arrival. Released independently via his label Tru Community, the record featured collaborations with Loyle Carner and Maverick Sabre.
Since then, Kofi has toured across the UK, Europe and Australia, performed on major festival stages worldwide, and collaborated with artists including Jacob Banks and Tiana Major9.
In October 2024, he returned with his long-awaited second project, A Man After God's Own Heart—his first full-length release since 2019. Met with critical acclaim from The Guardian, CLASH, Wonderland, and Notion, the record stands as his most personal to date. It explores themes of love, faith, family and race, weaving a deeply reflective narrative of struggle, healing and hope. Highlights include May Sound Crazy featuring the late Benjamin Zephaniah, the soulful Black Joy, and the Tom Misch-produced Lavender.
With a voice that blends introspection and social commentary, Kofi Stone continues to carve out a space uniquely his—authentic, poetic, and powerfully human. His journey is one of constant evolution, grounded in purpose and artistic integrity.
