KWIT/КВІТ is an electronic duo of Marina Mashtaler and Johannes Niehaus, who live and create in Wrocław, Poland. The name of the band relates to the cycle of life of a flower and means "blooming" in Ukrainian. KWIT/КВІТ draws inspiration from great synth-pop music and the oniric tradition of Polish theatre. It mixes the sounds of synthesizers, drum machines and acoustic instruments with lyrical texts written in Polish, Ukrainian and English in a way, that helps their listeners escape reality for a bit.
So far, together with <a href="spotify:artist:5Y1YwWzFX7BIxBbdAOXOEJ" data-name="Klur">Klur</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0lIiVp6FVbJR2utszYQhNf" data-name="INNERVERSE">INNERVERSE</a>, KWIT/КВІТ has co-released a dancy deep-house track "I knew", which talks about the feeling of being lost in love, comparable to the trip to the open space. In January, 2024 Kwit released their first song in Polish, "Mgła". It's a lecture on noticing beauty, even when it feels like everything is covered with fog. The song was performed for the first time on the 43. Stage Song Review (43. Przegląd Piosenki Aktorskiej), which resulted into receiving most of the prizes, including the Grand Prix of PPA. At the moment Marina and Johannes are preparing for the release of their next song, "Noce", in the end of May, 2024.
