KWVDU (pronounced Ko-Jo) is an emerging R&B/Hip-Hop artist, producer, and singer-songwriter from Washington, D.C., known for his multi-talented proficiency in singing, rapping, songwriting, and producing. His many talents allow him to explore a range of sounds, from smooth neo-soul melodies to modern soulful R&B to melodic rapping with lyrical prowess.
KWVDU started making music with family members on cassette tapes, which led him to join a Go-Go band during his early teenage years, singing and playing various instruments, including Drums, Bass Guitar, and Keyboard. He started producing and writing music at 18. Early inspirations included Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Erykah Badu, Wale, Go-Go Music, Usher, Chris Brown, etc.
KWVDU has opened up for MC Lyte, Common, Fat Trel, James Harriston, etc. He has also collaborated with former NBA Superstar Steve Francis, Benny the Butcher, John Givez, Propaganda, Ruslan, and more. He has performed and toured the United States twice, Accra, Ghana, and the Dominican Republic. His song “You Don’t Know” is featured on Season 2 of the hit Amazon series, “CROSS”.
