Kyla Michi is a Filipina singer-songwriter & busker who creates music that marries together everything she loves: OPM novelty hits, main pop girl jams, and theatre songs.
Her passion for songwriting goes back to when she was a 13-year-old writing cheesy, puppy love songs for a school music project (she also wonders where that burnt CD is now, but she hopes her teacher enjoyed the songs as much as she and her classmates did).
What simply started in classrooms, Kyla Michi took out into the corporate world. As an advertising professional, she would write catchy tunes for brands. So you might have heard a couple of her jingle compositions playing over and over on the radio, in TV commercials, and on social media.
Today, Kyla Michi has a vault of songs written about her life experiences — the good; the very, very bad; and everything in between. She would perform them at open mics and busking sessions for an intimate audience to enjoy, but then they’re like, “Why are these not on Spotify yet!?” and she was like, "Oo nga noh."
Now, she’s ready to share her music with the world. And she wants you to be part of that story too.
