Of German and African-American decent, Tanja “La Alemana” grew up in Germany with her mother. Tanja loved music and dancing from the time she was born - it was in her blood. She started to take dance classes at the age of 4 in ballroom, jazz, and tap.
When her and her mother moved to the USA in 1996, Tanja lost her way and stopped organized dancing. However in 2005 she was introduced to Salsa dancing and has been dancing Salsa and Bachata since that day.
Her singing career took off with the help of her status in the Latin dance scene all over the globe and she, along with her partners Ataca and El Tiguere, has been a featured artist for the popular Bachata singing group, Grupo Extra.
