Culled together by Chicago’s salsa authority Carlos “Caribe” Ruiz, La Solución formed in 1972, cored by a group of Wells High School attendees. Although Caribe and La Solución barely grace the history books, their impact on Chicago’s salsa scene remains potent. Claiming three albums and the scads of 45s that bear their name, Orquesta La Solución is far and away the most prolific recording artist in Chicago salsa history.
