At the core of the project is a close creative partnership between Ben Roach - Sydney-based songwriter, frontman of SLIM JIMZ and longtime collaborator producer Luke Payne, with the two serving as the primary songwriters behind the project.
LANNIGAN began in 2017 and was initially more of a studio project focussing on writing and recording rather than playing live. In the past year, Lannigan has evolved into something bigger, bringing in a new lineup of collaborators who have reshaped the sound both live and on record.
Charlie Tait (Cambio Sun) on bass, Joe Goddard (Behind You) on guitar and Harrison Stewart-Weeks (Planet) on drums have each bought their own flavour to the project, pushing it into a new sonic territory and adding depth and energy that sets it apart from earlier recordings.
In early 2025 Lannigan recorded their 2nd EP which will be out in the second half of the year.
