Larry Tee is one of the most outrageous artists in electronic music history. He created the genre term Electroclash, in 1992 co- wrote and instigated TV legend RuPauls’ ‘Supermodel (you better work)’ and has gold certifications with DJ megastars Afrojack (Let’s Make Nasty) , and Steve Aoki (Licky) in the 2000s. In fact Licky his track with Princess Superstar remixed by Herve has gone viral in 2024 getting 100 million impressions on social media.
A little history: His first group The Fans’ member Kevin Dunn produced the first B-52s Rock Lobster/52 Girls, he was romantically involved with REMs Michael Stipe, and brought RuPaul and Lady Bunny to NYC in a van which led to the contemporary drag explosion. He DJed the Roxy and the Palladium in the 90s getting a multi-platinum hit with Supermodel, and launched the electroclash craze in the early naughties. His own productions and songwriting hits became legendary in the 2010s. and now he’s creating a brand new movement with his ICONS international TV showcasing the wildest ‘girls, gays and theys’. Watch for this tv show and his upcoming documentaries shedding light on video documentarian Nelson Sullivan, the electroclash phenomena, the birthplace of contemporary drag, the Clubkid movement, and the explosion of DJ culture.
