Irreverent Detroit rap duo LARS was formed by D12's Bizarre and horrorcore emcee and Fat Killahz member King Gordy. The two longtime collaborators had come together in 2008 under the name the Davidians, but in 2017 they changed the name to LARS (shorthand for Last American Rock Stars) and signed a deal with Twiztid-affiliated label Majik Ninja Entertainment. In interviews, the duo referred to their unrepentantly wild style as an attempt to bring fun back into what they felt had become an overly serious hip-hop scene. Overflowing with themes of sex, drugs, and violence, LARS released their Foul World mixtape in late 2017 and offered up debut album Last American Rock Stars early the next year. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
