Born and based in Scotland, Last Island is the artistic vision of producer Daniel Docherty, who’s forward-thinking, cross-genre sound has propelled him to remix genre defining artists such as Porter Robinson, Madeon and Mat Zo.
Last Island first came to name with his vibrant take on Porter Robinson’s “Fresh Static Snow” from his acclaimed album “Worlds”, after which he remixed Mat Zo’s “Soul Food” which brought out a more expansive house style of the song.
His sound has evolved over the years from downtempo, drum and bass and more recently melodic based EDM. One thing remains consistent; his ability to balance both dream-like and vibrant tones to his sound. As a multi-instrumentalist he brings different angles to every production, with focus and detail brought to every aspect of a song.
Inspiration comes from his home of the Isle of Skye, a world-famous Island in Scotland known for is dramatic and rugged landscape of which brings an emotional and expansive emotion to his sound.
