Late Hala is fronted by English songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist Dan Whiffin. Rooted in classic singer-songwriter traditions, the music blends electric and acoustic guitar with synth textures, dreamy vocals and vintage tones.
Previous singles have earned support from BBC Introducing, and Late Hala has played intimate shows in London, Paris and at South by Southwest (SXSW), steadily building a reputation for honest, melodic songwriting with an atmospheric feel.
The upcoming single Wherever You Are - out 22nd August - was written in a garden in Hertfordshire after leaving London post-pandemic. The track builds from a simple acoustic beginning into something more expansive, and features John Victor (Gengahr) on bass and Lara Smiles (Australian Pink Floyd) on backing vocals. It was recorded in Manchester with producer Jim Spencer (Johnny Marr, New Order).
