Laura Ann Singh

Laura Ann Singh is a multilingual American singer, recording artist and composer, often associated with musica popular brasileira and Latin boleros. She has performed internationally in Europe, Russia, and South America, and with Miramar has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk and headlined globalFEST in New York City. She has recorded with Daptone Records, Barbès Records, and Electric Cowbell as well as dozens of independent recordings. Her repertoire pulls from all over Latin America, especially Brazil, but includes American Songbook standards, women composers, and original music. The forthcoming album Mean Reds, featuring her free jazz/indie band Fracas Quintet, releases on Out Of Your Head Records on October 26, 2025.

Laura Ann is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed ensemble Miramar. Miramar has been featured on NPR's Tiny Desk concert series and All Songs Considered. They are recipients of the MidAtlantic Arts Foundation USArtists International Grant, and have released recordings on two of Brooklyn’s most famed indie-labels, Barbès and Daptone Records. They released a single of Sylvia Rexach’s Olas y Arenas on Barbès Record in February of 2022 in honor of the centennial of Rexach’s birth.

Laura Ann loves the collaborative nature of her chosen field and is constantly grateful for the flow of communication between her and her audience. Laura Ann plays fancy concert halls in big cities and small shows in intimate venues. She is at home anywhere in the world.
