Singer-songwriter Laura van Kaam tells real, raw, and relatable stories through her music, weaving tales of love, life's ups and downs, and the emotions that come with them in her own special way. Born and raised in a small village in the Netherlands, Laura developed a deep passion for music from a young age. She taught herself to play the guitar, using it as a means to sing along with her favorite songs and eventually to express her own emotions through songwriting.
Inspired by artists like Lady A, Blü Eyes, and Carly Pearce, Laura's love for country music is clearly audible in her songs. Grounded in the modern pop genre, this completes Laura’s sound.
After Laura's debut EP “Who I Am Today” in 2022, Laura releases a new EP in 2024. “Just say it” is a collection of her latest singles that tell relatable stories. The eponymous title track is a touching ballad about the battle between your healthy self and your struggling mental self. With this song, Laura hopes to inspire listeners to be kinder to themselves and to speak up when they need help, breaking the stigma around mental health.
With the EP “Just say it” Laura aims to show that she is not afraid to tackle beautiful but also sensitive topics. "Just say it" stands for openness, strength, and love.
