“ground zero” is story that takes place in the near future (Near-Fi) where the detrimental consequences of global warming has become a reality. Water that we take for granted on a daily basis replaces gold as the new standard – scarce and finite in supply, the wealth gap exercises its clinching grip even more on humanity. Our protagonists [ 5 students, “chris” played by Geonhee Song / “josh” played by Jungsik Lee / “daisy” played by Sohyun Shin / “scarlet” played by Hyozu Choi / “ryan” played by Jungjae Yoon ] learn to survive in the current dystopian climate, as they search for the best in mankind while experiencing the same questions/uncertainties every teenager has in his/her adolescences. Each embarks on the journey for the pursuit of life’s meaning and along the way finds friendship, solitude, love, anger, jealousy, sadness, and compassion but hope is yet to come.

Season 1 (7 episodes) closes its first chapter of the protagonists’ lives as students. Season 2 (in production) will introduce the five as adults who inevitably cross paths in search for a new source of water.
