Lejana is a Mexican-German rock band formed, in 2011. Currently the group consists of Linda Marlen Runge (lead vocals), Eder Perales (guitar), Isaac Fernandez (drums), Daniel Barrera (bass) and Robert Kerner (guitar).
Linda and Eder met in 2009 thanks to Steven Medina Hufsteter guitar player from the Los Angeles based band “Tito & Tarantula” and by the end of that year, while living in different countries, they started to share songs online.
Within one year they created an entire demo record and in early 2011 Runge moved from Germany to México with nothing more than a backpack and her laptop, which contained Lejana’s demos.
Their first record was released on April 2014 along with a tour in México, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
In 2015 the band focused on the composition of a new record. This time most of the songs were composed face to face, while alternating visits to Guadalajara or to Berlin (unlike the first album which was mostly composed remotely).
This new way of working had a strong impact on the sound and direction of the band.
The latest album is called “XII BESTIAS” (twelve beasts) and contains 12 tracks that combine Linda's both aggresive punk energy and elaborated melancholic vocal harmonies with musical sounds from desolated mexican landscapes, forgotten ghost towns. A road trip through the desert, maybe at night.
