As a Juilliard harpsichordist, Leslie started out in classical. Living in Greenwich Village in New York City she found herself playing harpsichord for rock artists at Electric Lady Studios. She worked there with the engineer / producer Eddie Kramer, and did sessions with the Jimmy Hendrix band. Writing songs came naturally, and she signed a publishing deal with Warner Brothers that earned her some major cover records. Pearl is an award winning jingle writer as well, composing and producing jingles including “The Best Part of Waking Up” for Folgers. She's had hit covers with Karen Carpenter, Whitney Houston, Dr. Hook, Crystal Gayle, Aretha Franklin, among others. RCA signed her as an artist, and the first single, “If The Love Fits Wear It” spent four months in the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. Ms. Pearl is winner of some notable awards including two BMI Million-Air Awards for radio airplay, and three Clios for her Ford and Folgers jingles.
