Jim Capaldi (2 August 1944 – 28 January 2005) was an English singer-songwriter and drummer whose vibrant spirit shaped rock music over a career spanning more than four decades. Co-founding the progressive rock band Traffic in 1967 with Steve Winwood, he co-wrote much of the band's iconic material, including the timeless classic "Dear Mr. Fantasy”.
