L´Exotighost are planning a new approach to the concept of Exotica for 2022. In their second album, "Kamongo", they spice up the original recipee of the genre with an array of new flavours and textures. The result in this will delight Exotica fans and newcomers who enjoy discovering fresh, original sounds.
Formed in Madrid in 2018 by a bunch of experimented and well known musicians from the Spanish underground music scene whose aim is to recover the adventurous force of Exotica pioneers but adding the tools and possibilities that present time offers. What Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman and Co. gave us was tons of mistery and musical surprises. Now L'Exotighost adds a new combination of instruments, a brand new potion exuding a wide range of timbres: the theremin (played by Javier Díez Ena) as the main voice, the melody role in several songs, marimbas (played by María Arranz) occupied the harmonic field, bass ukuleles (the revolutionary Kala U Bass) takes the rhythmic pulse along with a wide variety of percussion and fully danceable drums (played by Ricardo Moreno). Overhead you can hear exotic strings like Japanese shamisen (played by Juan Pérez Marina), Hawaiian lapsteels and oceanic guitars, vibraphones and even scratches. The ultimate spicy twist is a fine electronic process which modifies in some tracks the sound of the instruments.
