Life of Grime's debut LP “Quality Junk” is an MC’s dream, featuring 13 original golden era hip hop-inspired boom bap / funk instrumentals from Bay Area, USA producer Chris Lujan & friends.
"Producers like Prince Paul, Dan the Automator, the Jurassic 5 DJs (Numark and Cut Chemist), and Wu-Tang are huge inspirations,” says Lujan. “But, I’m not covering their songs, only copping the vibe. All with live instruments, no samples.”
Dubbed the hardest working man in the soul business, Lujan has worked alongside Trish Toledo, Peligro Brass, The M-Tet and Andre Cruz, shared stages with Lee Fields, Thee Sacred Souls and Monophonics, and released a wide range of soulful sounds on his own Lugnut Brand record label.
