New Jersey-based group Lightheaded make songs that call on the unsatisfied tunefulness of classic indie pop and college rock, as well as tapping into the idealistic daydreaming of '60s chamber pop. They signed on with Slumberland Records for the release of both their 2023 EP Good Good Great! and their proper debut album, 2024's Combustible Gems.

Songwriters/co-bandleaders Stephen Stec and Cynthia Rittenbach played in several bands together before forming Lightheaded in the late 2010s. After releasing a stand-alone song in 2018, they shared the 2019 cassette album Cowboys and Constellations. By the time Slumberland released the band's 2023 EP, Good Good Great!, they included Sara Abdelbarry on additional guitar and vocals, Anthony Meleo on drums, and string arrangements by Erin Turner. Their debut album, Combustible Gems, followed the next year with more of a synth pop sound on some songs. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
