Hip-hop soulster <a href="spotify:artist:0y7ESaFIr3j78rkTzLXwuV">Link</a> gained a contract with Relativity Records after he wrote the Top Five hit "My Body" for <a href="spotify:artist:1l40tPBtp1bmS1krmINRSD">LSG</a>, the R&B supergroup formed by <a href="spotify:artist:7BLOa6FxCbMnowidkQfLIA">Gerald Levert</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2r09Inibex3C4ZNTUVSG3m">Keith Sweat</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7oHzn7edwmrYClrPRINkbn">Johnny Gill</a>. Born Lincoln Browder in Dallas, <a href="spotify:artist:0y7ESaFIr3j78rkTzLXwuV">Link</a> was active in gospel choirs and formed his own a cappella group while still a teenager. He was later recruited by R&B impresario <a href="spotify:artist:0qRpu2oQskuUjU1yO9FeaX">Darrell "Delite" Allamby</a> for a quartet named Protégé; when the group split up, <a href="spotify:artist:0y7ESaFIr3j78rkTzLXwuV">Link</a> kept working with <a href="spotify:artist:0qRpu2oQskuUjU1yO9FeaX">Allamby</a>. The duo wrote several songs with collaborator Antoinette Roberson, including "My Body," and when <a href="spotify:artist:1l40tPBtp1bmS1krmINRSD">LSG</a> began searching for a lead single, they looked no further. The track became a sizable hit, and, soon enough, <a href="spotify:artist:0y7ESaFIr3j78rkTzLXwuV">Link</a> debuted with his own recording, 1998's Sex Down. He also wrote tracks for <a href="spotify:artist:63velvOpFlehUqudZ7WMBh">Silk</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3g0RlUGYDE7rdAJSnLkNOv">Kut Klose</a>, plus <a href="spotify:artist:0G7OYsWptjRzVFT1AxP8TS">Levert</a> and Gill's solo careers. ~ John Bush, Rovi
