Inspired by the raw energy of bands like <a href="spotify:artist:0epOFNiUfyON9EYx7Tpr6V" data-name="The Strokes">The Strokes</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4fSPtBgFPZzygkY6MehwQ7" data-name="The Libertines">The Libertines</a> and early <a href="spotify:artist:7Ln80lUS6He07XvHI8qqHH" data-name="Arctic Monkeys">Arctic Monkeys</a>, Lip Service Disco delivers gritty garage rock straight from the outskirts of South Jakarta.
Formed by Woda (vocals) and Dante (bass), friends since elementary school, the band later brought in Bintang (guitar), a middle school friend, and Julen (drums), Dante’s college mate, to complete the lineup.
Starting out in a cramped studio tucked away in the city’s edges, they carved out a sound built on distorted guitars, punchy basslines, and unfiltered lyrics. Loud, urgent, and unapologetic, Lip Service Disco plays with heart and noise in equal measure.
