Lloyd Baxter emerges as a celestial being from the cosmic rivers bordering Amazeland—an island nestled within the 12th dimension. Bestowed with purpose by the native Wizards of Amazeland, Lloyd is tasked with harvesting human souls to transmute into Amazeballs, thus safeguarding the entire megaverse. With the fate of all depending on Lloyd's balls, he embarks on a journey to collect souls and becoming one of the greatest musicians in history.
Lloyd is the collaborative effort of Chris Berry and Reverend Tate. Under the Lloyd persona, Berry ascends to artistic heights, seamlessly weaving together the myriad influences and experiences accumulated throughout his career into a triumphant symphony of sound and narrative. What we hear is all Berry creating sounds like a funky sci-fi meeting at the county fair. The Reverend contributing his artistic prowess, their collaboration includes videos, comics, short stories, and more. Lloyd's future includes a video game; Turis, a full-length vinyl release, a 50-page comic origin and live performances.
Berry's influences include the sexy grooves of 70s funk, the rhythmic tapestry of 1980s hip-hop, and the gritty resonance of hard rock spanning into the late '90s. This synthesis of varied artistic forms propelled Berry towards a nuanced and multifaceted approach to his craft. However, Berry's influences and vocal styles are elevated by his on-stage performance. His charisma and fluid dance moves are matched with masterful comedic timing.
